We're Back On Track!

It sometimes seemed like there was a conspiracy against the Class of ’59 having a 60th Reunion. Apparently, September has become the new June for weddings, resulting in extremely high demand for social venues.  But not to worry…. Charlie Grossman and Gerry Kuechle have been running their tails off to finally secure firm commitments from our preferred venues.  The only catch is that we had to be creative and reschedule from our original dates.

The Reunion will now run from Thursday, Sep 19 – Sat, Sep 21.  The events will remain consistent with what we have done in the past.  Exact times and costs will be determined soon.

·       Thursday, Sep 19 will be at the idyllic Clifton Beach House for our Welcome Back party. This casual unstructured event will start in the late afternoon and will allow us all to get reacquainted.

·       Friday, Sep 20 Dinner will, once again, take place at lovely Westwood Country Club but with a twist.  Instead of a formal sit-down dinner, we are planning more casual dinner stations.  The idea is to allow more interaction during dinner as well as better accommodating those of us with special dietary requirements.  We are also arranging for golf on Friday morning.

·        Saturday, Sep 21 is planned for our traditional brunch at the classic Cleveland Yacht Club.  Always popular, this low-key get together gives us all a chance to wrap up our nostalgic weekend before leaving town.

We have reserved 30 rooms at the Marriott Courtyard in Westlake, 25052 Sperry Rd, just east of Columbia Rd. off I-90.  Rooms for our Rocky River Class of 1959 Reunion are only $99/night.  FYI, suites with kitchenettes are available at the adjacent Marriott TownePlace Suites at competitive rates.  We are also investigating a possible Hospitality Room for use by our Classmates during the Reunion.  You may make reservations now by calling Erin or Kari at (440) 871-3756 or by using the following link: Book your group rate for Rocky River Class of 1959

We will soon send out more details and reservation information just as soon as we have firm figures.  We apologize for the unforeseen complications which arose in our planning and regret any inconvenience, but we are now all set to celebrate what we hope will be our best Reunion ever!
